Rainforest Conservation Non-Profit Organization

Eco Era

In 1991 we bought 2,000 acres of wild Costa Rican rainforest to preserve and protect. We founded a U.S. based 501c3 called Eco Era to oversee environmental education and conservation in Costa Rica. Since then, our conservation efforts have established these lands as nationally protected zones within Costa Rica. Our mission in conservation is to protect the rainforest's ecosystems by preventing deforestation and poaching and supporting the rainforest canopy to flourish.

This rainforest wildlife refuge is located in the Cerro Nara watershed of Costa Rica’s Central Pacific Coast. Our land is part of the 7,500 acre Zona Protectora Cerro Nara protected rainforest parklands. Eco Era was created to protect biodiversity and endangered species by ensuring that critical habitat is preserved in a pristine state and to educate people about the importance of protecting the earth to ensure a sustainable future for all beings.

This land is home to one of the purest watersheds left on earth, in one of the most bio-diverse critical habitat regions in the world. The rainforest is a major contributor to the regulation of climate change and mitigator of global carbon emissions. Our current global environmental crisis demands that our rainforests be protected to ensue a future for life on earth.

We offer various immersive educational programs designed to bring participants into closer connection to our earth through raising awareness about the importance of conserving our natural world.

We believe

To protect the sovereignty and happiness of all beings will heal the earth.

Connecting People to Nature

Connecting People to Nature

Humans are beings of the earth. We come into our natural equilibrium simply by being in nature, touching our hands to the earth, listening to the sounds of the forest. When we are connected to nature, we develop a greater concern for our planet and take actions that reflect genuine care.

Animal Rights

Animal Rights

Animals play a crucial role in every eco-system. More and more species are becoming endangered, which endangers the health of our entire planet. We work to prevent the poaching of animals, and recognize them as living beings with the right to live free of human-caused danger.

Healthy Ecosystems

Healthy Ecosystems

Healthy ecosystems clean our water, purify our air, maintain our soil, regulate the climate, recycle nutrients and provide us with food. They provide raw materials and resources for medicines and other purposes. They are the foundation of all civilization.

Respecting Life

Respecting Life

Life is sacred. All life is deeply connected through complexities that we cannot always see. Respecting life means taking a wider viewpoint of the world by abandoning self-centered thinking and understanding that all life forms are crucial to the survival and harmony of one another.
