At Posada Natura, safety, well-being, and healing is of utmost importance to us, and our main goal is to ensure each person gets the most out of an experience with us. Our aim is to create a safe and supportive environment encompassing all aspects of the healing process. We only work with highly experienced indigenous healers who are grounded in traditional lineages. We are connected several lineages that have generations and decades of experience working and training with this medicine, such that they are able to safely and effectively hold space for our guests during ceremony.

Apart from our on-site team of adept healers and facilitators, we are supported by a team of psychiatrists throughout the screening process, as well as during and after your journey with us. Our screening and preparation procedures include a thorough medical protocol and intake process that provides each person with a safe and fulfilling experience and mitigates the risk of contraindications with the plant medicine. Our focus on integration is paramount to the work we do with plant medicine. Plant medicine ceremonies are a powerful catalyst for healing that may initiate a person into a much longer healing journey. Our team is equipped with tools and skills to assist you through each step of this process before, during and after the ceremonies.

We mainly work with Amazonian plant medicine plant medicine from the Amazon led by medicine carriers extensively trained in the indigenous Putumayo lineages of Colombia and the indigenous vegetalismo lineages of Peru. We also work with plant medicine from North America led by Native American lineage holders.

Our plant medicine programs are led renown experts and leaders in their fields. They have deeply immersed and practiced in their tradition of Kamensta, Lakota, and Shipibo for 20+ years. Our medicine work is also supported by a team of psychiatrists whose research and lifework is dedicated to studying the healing effects of these ancient medicines and practices. Our programs at Posada Natura are designed to act as a bridge between the indigenous mind and the western mind so that deeper healing and self-realization can take place.

No, the retreats are all inclusive programs. The integration piece of plant medicine work is essential to the healing process. Our programs are specifically designed in this way to ensure the emotional and psychological safety and wellness of each participant. For this reason we are firm in our request that guests experience the entire wellness program.

If special circumstances warrant that you attend just a portion of a retreat, you may discuss it with the facilitator.

We offer one on one integration support for every guest, which may include counseling, energy healing, and additional ceremonial work. Our medicine workers are highly skilled healers who draw upon the knowledge and wisdom of their lineages to support your integration process. Our work is also supported by a team of western psychiatrists who are researchers on the curative properties and psychological effects of the plant medicines we work with. Our integration support extends beyond just our wellness retreats. We will continue to support and guide you as needed, as we are committed to the success of your healing. We give strong priority to offering tools for you to carry your work home with you and ways to integrate healing and self-care into your daily life.

Our wellness programs are designed to immerse you in a variety of healing and spiritual practices that you can take home with you and use to cultivate practices that will maintain the healing work done during your retreat. Upon registration, you will receive an information packet which will include our dietary and preparation guidelines to prepare you for your experience. Beyond the specific foods we list to avoid, in general it’s best to approach the diet focusing less on deprivation, and more about creating an environment within your body which gives the medicine the best chance of permeating and illuminating areas that need healing. In general, a clean diet which focuses more on whole foods and less on excess salt, sugar, spiciness, and processed foods, is going to allow the medicine to work with you in the best way possible.

Please see here for a detailed list of dietary and lifestyle preparations.

We value the importance of offering a personalized experience for each guest so that they feel comfortable and safe to immerse fully into their healing process with adequate support. We like to keep our group sizes for plant medicine retreats under 20 people to establish the energy of community and safety. Having a healthy group dynamic is an important aspect of the healing and awakening process. Keeping the groups small also allows for our medicine workers to give greater focus to the needs of each person.

Circle of Sacred Nature (CSN) is a 501c3, multi-faith spiritual church based in Northern California. We work closely with CSN in the design and execution of our plant medicine programs. We are working together to maintain connections to a global network of healers, researchers, and medical professionals to support our mission of providing safe, integral healing to humanity. Our lead medicine women is one of the founders of CSN, and brings retreat groups to Posada Natura several times per year. You can learn more about CSN here.
